Your website's story: are your characters well-defined?

Despite the ‘splosions and robots, I don’t think the Transformers films are very good, because the characters aren’t very well-defined. Well-defined characters make stories more engaging.

Web content also becomes more engaging with well-defined characters. Isn’t the web a story? After all, every web user is a character motivated by finding useful content for her or his situation.

What was in those peanuts? A low-tech airline safety card redesign

While on a recent flight to Miami, I opened the airline safety card and saw this diagram.

It took me a while to figure it out. Essentially, it's warning passengers that the back exit is not for water evacuation, but the intimidating amount of floating circles produces noise. And what do the A and B circles mean? They're unexplained.
